That's exactly it... And you can't get an extra army anywhere... the entire army comes only from castles and heroes... so on this map, magic plays a big role... and it all depends on luck... After my game, I reviewed this map, and the settings include Necropolis and a Tower... in these cities, they didn't give anything good, except in one Necropolis, where there was an explosion that I learned... and from my own experience, you only need two things there: build an army and learn magic... but things like tactics and mass haste are what decide the outcome against a mage... so it all depends on luck...
