More about the view from the window

As for me, there is nothing beautiful in these photos, just ordinary pictures of an ordinary city. Mine is almost the same.

An ordinary city? Volchik, but every city has something of its own, something special. You have the White Nights, the Arctic Ocean, and maybe something else that we don't know about yet. The city of Arca boasts a rich history and culture. And the view from my window shows some of the unique features of my city.

Here are some new photos. An elite view, created by nature itself.

The first photo is a front view. About 30-40 km from the city is the Avachinskaya group of volcanoes. There are only five of them, two of which are active. On the left, in the distance, are two inactive volcanoes, Aag and Arik. To the right is the highest volcano in the group, Koryakskaya Sopka (three and a half thousand meters), which is active. Even further to the right is the active Avachinskaya Sopka volcano, about two thousand seven hundred and fifty meters high. On the cone, you can see rocks that form a kind of face - eyes, nose, mustache, and a few years ago, in winter, two fumaroles (volcanic activity in the form of high-temperature gas and steam emissions) emerged from the top, resembling horns. Twelve thousand years ago, there was a huge volcano five kilometers high in its place, but as a result of a monstrous explosion, its crater collapsed, and the remains of the crater can be seen in the photo. In twelve thousand years, a new volcano has grown in its place. The city stands on the lava and ash of that monstrous volcano; for example, under the Institute of Volcanology, the lava layer exceeds one hundred meters, and in Mokhovaya Bay, there is an outcrop of lava that once flowed into the ocean. The volcano is often climbed on foot; the record is two hours and fifteen minutes from the foot. The one on the far right is the inactive Kozelskaya Sopka volcano, two hundred and twenty meters high; a ski resort is located on its slope.

The second photo is a rear view. This is Myshennaya Sopka, the highest point in the city (384 meters); my house is located at its foot. It was formed as a result of the uplift and subsequent solidification of a huge, light "drop" of magma, which pushed the rocks above it upwards. It got its name when it served as a training target. The photo shows the road leading to the top, where the television antenna is located.
