A clue that points too obviously and bluntly to only one player cannot be genuine. Compare it with other clues from the GM. They are at least ambiguous, while the whiskey is a direct setup.

The main clue should point to only one player. And a false clue, on the other hand, points to both the murderer and the person the murderer wants to frame instead of themselves.

Another question is that the main clue turns out to be too obvious...
