Second, check the hosts folder (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) and clear any links ending in ".ubi". Third, and most importantly, as soon as you install the game, go to the game folder and launch the launcher application named "gu". Use it to download both patches. After installation and logging into the launcher, click "play". The screen will go black again, and after about 20 seconds, the first splash screen will appear.
