Huey Freeman is the main character and narrator of the comic strip and animated television series "The Boondocks." Raised in a rough neighborhood of Chicago, the ten-year-old prodigy Huey is a staunch leftist and a nonconformist. Mature for his age, well-read, politically astute, and sarcastic, he is keenly aware of current events in American society. Huey lives with his younger brother, Riley, and his grandfather, Robert. For his age, Huey is a skeptic and an intellectual. He despises the absurdity of the society in which he lives. His somewhat cynical attitude towards the established order extends to politics, religion, the media, corporations, and African-American culture. Being meticulous in both manner and speech, Huey displays views that seem contradictory to his age. Gifted with eloquence, he is capable of captivating an audience when necessary. Huey's library consists of a large collection of books. In addition, he constantly reads newspapers, watches the news on television, and takes notes to stay up-to-date on current events. Occasionally, Huey demonstrates proficiency in various martial arts and the use of bladed weapons, and in this, his skills far exceed those of a ten-year-old. (this is more for action) Huey Freeman is an advocate of revolutionary socialism, and he can easily quote Marx or lecture on Marxism and anarcho-syndicalism. As a staunch opponent of the American establishment, he also rejects African-American politicians and pop culture figures who have integrated into it. Huey is not religious, as stated in his own statements in the comic. He respects Jesus as a secular historical figure and a social revolutionary, but he is skeptical of religion. ===In the final episode of the first season, "The Passion of Reverend Ruckus," Huey, desperate to save an unjustly convicted man from execution, falls to his knees and begins to pray, saying:
"I've never prayed in my life... I don't even know who I'm praying to... Maybe I'm too young to understand what the world should be like... But the world shouldn't be like this. The world can't be like this."===

A smile rarely appears on the face of the pessimist, skeptic, and conspiracy theorist Huey—he only smiles four times in the animated series. He seems to be in a bad mood almost all the time, but sometimes he has a rather puzzled expression. Huey is always polite to others (except those he considers counter-revolutionaries).

I should have posted this in the previous post, but I must have forgotten or thought that he wasn't yet one of my favorites. Now, the time has come. I really like this guy, his thoughts, his views, even if I don't agree with all of them.
