If you think about any game, you'll notice that at the beginning, mages with their developing abilities are significantly weaker than muscular warriors who easily defeat all encountered enemies in neat rows along a country road. The mage has to literally go to great lengths to survive and gain new experience. But sooner or later, a moment comes when the mage, with his acquired power, can destroy a small army of barbarians who previously mocked him with just a flick of his left little finger. And after that, the warriors usually start bothering the developers, demanding that they "rebalance" the game...
