:) and in vain. When I started playing Heroes 5, I criticized it too. But after I figured it out, I really liked Heroes 5. :) By the way, it's significantly harder to play than Heroes 1, 2, 3, and 4. And there, the "hero" level really corresponds to the "impossible" rank. IMHO

What about Heroes 4? They are funny, but there are some features, for example, warring heroes, you can take several of them into the army at once, and the dead can be easily resurrected by entering any of your cities.
