simultaneous turn mode

I’ve always been curious about how simultaneous turns work. Do players make their moves at the same time, finish their turns whenever they want, and not wait for their opponents? But when turn-based mode is activated, what date will be used? After all, a month could have passed for one player, while only three weeks have passed for another :eek:!
