In Counter-Strike, "camping" is a common tactic, as it's still a game with tactical shooter elements, and sitting with a machine gun is normal. But I don't like it, so I don't play it. Although, with Arca, we had a great time shooting each other on Aztec that one time, until the hardcore players showed up. It was a real firefight, not just hiding behind a box (which is a very fun activity). In Half-Life, as I said, "camping" is just a noob tactic that causes some irritation and distracts from the action. But all the noob hiding spots are well-known, and after the first or second grenade, a skilled player will just reflexively shoot rockets into the hiding spot. I'm not even mentioning jumping.
They're just schoolchildren who have chosen a losing tactic by default. I don't think that THIS IS WRONG; I just find this type of gameplay annoying (even though it's ineffective).
Regarding Heroes and RTS games in general, Kueta said it all.
Except the ones we've made
