How do you imagine the races in Heroes of Might and Magic?

Well... for me, elves are associated with either Chinese or Mongols - and they have excellent archers and decent cavalry - I mean, more like the Middle Ages, plus - the shape of their eyes, their body structure - it matches;
Romans - Haven - legionaries and so on;
mages - Arabs or Indians;
and if you remember the Necropolis and the Mausoleum on Red Square - well, the conclusion is obvious.
As for the rest, I haven't figured it out yet.
