Heroes 6 - Discussion

Hello everyone.
I'm having a problem with the game; it keeps having these flashes (like a camera flash), which is very annoying.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

As far as I know, there might be one of the following problems, and therefore solutions:

1) Outdated video card drivers

You need to download the latest ones from the manufacturer's website.
If you're playing on a laptop, updating the drivers will be more difficult: most laptop manufacturers forget about their "older" models.
But it's still possible: for example, for laptops with an ATI video card, there's a utility called Mobility Modder that allows you to install new drivers for an old video card.

2) Outdated DirectX

Download the DirectX Web Installer from the Microsoft website and run it.

3) You are playing on a Mac using Crossover Games

Find the configuration file in the game's folder.
Open it in a text editor and change the screen resolution to one that doesn't overlap the game window.
For example, if the screen resolution is 1440x900, set it to 1440x720 in the settings.

If nothing helps, change the resolution manually, following the instructions in point 3 - it might help.
