Who needs this rating? :confused:

If nobody needed it, no one would write anything in the reports.

It motivates people to play. And it's easier to attract new players.

Here's an example. Let's say there are 3 people competing for first place, with roughly the same rating: 1765, 1750, 1745. The second and third players think, "I'll play a few more games and catch up and overtake the one in first place," and they start playing actively. The first player sees this and also starts increasing the number of their games. As a result, the number of games played increases. The same applies to other positions.

Conclusion: an automatic rating increases the number of games played, and it's needed.

And counting each game manually for everyone would be crazy. And doing it several times a month isn't the same... It lacks that excitement.
