Dragging out and stalling the inter-portal doesn't seem like the best option. The issue is to have 6 players from each resource, and that's it; anyone who doesn't get to play against who they want can go play fun games. If the deadlines are endless, there will be no suspense...

I recall registration for the Summer Cup in HoMM 3 on the TE-lite version (organized by Oelm) lasted over a month. There were 6 participants.
The MP topic was created 5 days ago, featuring different resources, with completely different rules, different traditions, and different requirements. There are over 50 participants. The organizers work day and night, "without receiving a single penny" (c) Dirty_Player, and we are already accusing them of stalling.
Team registration is not over yet; just yesterday there was an application to join the HW team.
I already wrote that deadlines for games will be strict, and penalties for stalling will be severe.
We play fun games elsewhere.

Players will be assigned based on their performance in past MPs, in FB and other tournaments; discipline and players' personal preferences regarding versions, templates, and rules will also be taken into account.
