Which hero is the best in the Tribes of the East expansion?

The choice of hero depends on the map. On small maps, Kyphra, Iranna, Vaishan, and Synitar (especially him!) will perform better. On large maps, Erin, Sorgal, Irbeth, and Letos will be easier to play. I personally prefer to play as Synitar (he hits harder, and it doesn't require spending much more mana, which is better than Kyphra, who has to use Ice Golem 3 times and then just attack), as well as Letos (plague is plague, but it's still useful).
