I read somewhere that a Necromancer completely crushed a Wing player, according to the player. And this player wasn't new to the game; they had played Heroes several times before.
If you play for the late game, Necropolis has little chance against Haven, unless you drag the game out for a very long time, until the Necromancer's army becomes huge. Then, I think it doesn't matter who the Necromancer is playing against; no one can stand against such an army. In my opinion, the late game is the final stage after 2-3 months of playing.
