Why is the sky blue?

Indeed, why is it? After all, the sky is air, just like the air that surrounds us, the air we breathe, but we don't see it; it's transparent and colorless. But high above our heads, it somehow turns blue – of course, on clear days when the blue of the sky isn't hidden by thick clouds.
The sky is blue everywhere. In the north, it's pale, in the south, it's deep blue, and here, in the middle of Russia, it's vibrant and blue.

Where do the wonderful colors and shades of the clear sky come from?

It turns out that it's the sunlight that colors the air high above our heads! The sun sends its rays to Earth, but they have to pass through a thick layer of air that surrounds the Earth. And as we now know, sunlight is multicolored; it consists of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet colors. And when this multicolored ray passes through a thick layer of air, the particles of air scatter, splash out all the colors of the solar spectrum, but most of all, most strongly, it scatters its blue part, and that's why the sky is colored blue.
Because the color of the sky is the blue splashes of a multicolored ray of sunlight.
