I don't understand, are we talking about Ifrits or Efreet?
An Ifrit is a type of jinn in Islamic mythology, distinguished by its special strength. In the Quran, an "Ifrit from the jinn" is tasked with bringing Solomon the throne of the Queen of Sheba. In the folklore of Arab peoples, Ifrits are considered the souls of the dead.
I was reading about Efreet, and I know that in Islamic mythology there were Ifrits... but even there, they are not the souls of the dead; they are creatures created by sorcerers (from their sick imaginations). ;)
