Excuse me, of course, but have you been reading the posts with your eyes closed? The chess timer in its current form (as in the VT example) is unacceptable for the game as a whole, because strategic battles are punished by time, even though they should essentially be rewarded.
==========================================================================================================================================
Sorry for the OFFTOPIC: I have played with a chess timer not 5 or 10 times and have already written about it, so I am speaking out.
...
On the merits: it is not the chess timer itself that I am indifferent to, but its current implementation! ITS FORM in which it currently exists. I, and I don't know about others, would be satisfied with a chess timer that stops time in battles. I'll end it at that.
But doesn't VT have a CHESS timer with a STOP in battles? :) The dispute essentially boils down to "whatever floats your boat". You set "stop timer in battles", find opponents who will play with such a timer, and off you go!
First, figure out what exactly you played, and which timer in which version you find unsatisfactory. And in general, such squabbles do nothing useful for this topic; quite the opposite. More work for the moderators again :(
