Isn't it obvious? A guard is a blocker and a protector. Goodness, there are so many options! For example, leave two blockers and two mafia killers alive, and then these killers will block each other every night.

You're talking as if it's so simple – just do it and that's it. Are the roles of all players known, like figures on a chessboard? No. Are you sure that the blockers will survive until the evil doctors are eliminated? No. All of this is too vague and unreliable.

The mafia wouldn't do that. There's nothing to argue about.

How "wouldn't"? Wouldn't "break the agreement"?
