HoMM3 HD is a mod (add-on) for the game Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
This can be solved by adding time proportional to the number of turns in the battle, i.e., adding time for each turn in the battle. This would be very correct, in my opinion. The only thing is that you need to find the right ranges for the additions. Starting time + time per turn on the map + time per turn in battle.
In my opinion, adding time based on the number of turns in a battle is not a good idea, because there is no time limit. You enter a battle against someone with slow units, and you can fly around as an angel, for example, for as long as you want, until a minute or two or three passes. I haven't played Warlords Tactics much, but I can say that the idea of chess clocks is quite well thought out there. For starters, you could implement it the same way, with the option to disable it. And why are you arguing? Those who want chess clocks will play with them, and those who are against it can play without them, and everyone will be happy.
In general, in my opinion, it would be more worthwhile to discuss and pay attention to more important issues, such as banning certain artifacts, adjusting the level 2 building, and, for example, possibly theoretically changing the building tree, of course, all of this would be optional.
