They took an ichthyosaur, painted it blue, and that's the whole style.

Even taking an ichthyosaur as a basis, you can get a pretty nice-looking dragon.
Opinions differ, some people liked it. So, it's not all that bad... Although, I don't like Shallassa at all; I imagined her completely differently...
