It so happens that in the group stages, an average of 20% of games are not played – people who have lost their first games lose motivation. Another, more pressing problem is the delay in deadlines. How can we combat this?
Hence the system: burger > individual > deadlines > coin – in my opinion, this is optimal for Heroes. I generally believe that all group matches should be played according to this system.
And there is no escaping friendly matches.
Besides, equal results, as you say, are quite rare. Usually, everything is decided in the burger round, and if not there, then in the individual match.
Round 1.
A def B
C def D
Round 2.
A def C
B def D
A advances from the group
D is eliminated
Round 3.
B def C
B advances from the group
C is eliminated
Essentially, it's the same round-robin format, but it removes those 2 games that can cause a cyclical closure of results. It also solves the problem of tournament motivation – after two wins or two losses, the 3rd game is not played.
