The file containing the templates is generally called rmg.txt, and if it contains only one template, only that template will be generated (taking into account the settings for generation), and you won't be able to replace the template in any way other than by overwriting this file. You can add to this file, but you need to do it carefully in an editor, even Notepad (although I prefer Akelpad). If the downloaded template is not named rmg.txt, you need to rename it. Here's how I do it: I create a "templates" folder, and inside it, subfolders named after each template. In each subfolder, I put the template file itself, rmg.txt, and any other relevant information (e.g., a diagram). When I want to play with a specific template, I simply copy the template file from the corresponding subfolder into the "data" folder.
