With Forge, there was outrage not from fans, but from a bunch of idiots who are only familiar with Heroes through its Multiplayer and didn't bother to learn about the origins and plot of the series.

Nothing like that. I am familiar with the history, with the role of the Ancients in it, but I still can't imagine this horror in the gameplay. Let them remain history, because a tank with a naked woman, a goblin with a cannon, and a zombie with a chainsaw... No, it smells like deviations. IMHO.

And I'm not sure that Forge could fit as harmoniously into "Heroes" as, for example, helicopters, self-propelled mortars, and goblin slicers with the same saws fit into "WarCraft". In order to successfully introduce such a specific Faction, it needs to be worked on skillfully, and the sketches from "3DO" leave much to be desired.
