But what if the player who came in 17th place scores more than the player who came in, say, 2nd?

Anything is possible, especially if the leaders of the first round lose in the second! But it's just a game!!! The League rating is only relevant for the top 10; for the other 1000 or 1050, it's not that important. I invited last year's winner of the League championship to play with us; we will definitely take his rating into account!:rolleyes:
