HoMM3 HD is a mod (add-on) for the game Heroes of Might and Magic 3.

1. I found a bug. When installing the mod, I selected [Russian] Complete Collection from the version dropdown list, but my game installation file is Complete.Buka.Repack.(Rus).exe (I thought it was the same). As it turned out, this caused the Russian language not to be displayed in the game chat. When I selected "Complete" from the dropdown list during installation, everything was restored.

Question: Could this have caused the game to crash?


2. In the mod installation window, you need to choose one of the executable files: either Heroes3.exe or Heroes3HD.exe.

Question: What are the differences between choosing one or the other executable file, and which one should be chosen in different situations?

A new issue has appeared: if I install Complete, I can write in both languages in the chat, but when I enter the tavern, the game crashes. If I install it as Complete Collection, I can only write in English, but I can enter the tavern (the updated one with the scroll).

I tested it. In general, installing [Russian] Complete Collection seems to be my version because I can't enter the tavern with the other versions. But then why can't I write in two languages, because as far as I know, the mod's functionality allows you to use both keyboard layouts?:confused:


3. Now about the sound. If you listen carefully in the game, you can indeed hear some sound glitches (overlaps, loss of audibility). I don't have Realtek, but Sigmatel Audio (integrated), but I disabled hardware acceleration; let's see how the game behaves... After checking DirectSound, a message appeared (I attached it at the end of the post). I did some Googling, but I couldn't find a complete answer. What does it mean in principle, and how can it be fixed, and is it even necessary? :)
