But who among the players would intentionally harm themselves? Losses? That's nonsense. If someone attacks them, they'll do it with a group of angels.

Apparently, you play with a large margin of safety, since you only attack ghosts with a group of angels:D. I often attack in the first or early second week, when mana is especially important. There was a long discussion about this on the forums – most top players agreed that stealing a large amount of mana, especially when attacking with a weak army, is too expensive an ability for creatures of the 3rd rank, and they added this feature to Quick Battles. IMHO, everything is fine, and there is variety.
