We create new heroes) sometimes just because a bad one was created with the same abilities. At least I don't remember which classes have which skills, and Loki doesn't know either.

The game package includes a file called "Hero Creation Guide.pdf," which lists the abilities of races and classes. It's located directly in the Start menu if you have a licensed copy.
By the way, are you playing with patch 1.2 or with the full imbalance in favor of mages?
