The difference is that you don't need to pre-order. And I wouldn't count on the game being released earlier; they'll find something to do until September.

1) When there wasn't this extra step, the release was in September. Now it will be +1000. Processing data from these 1000 takes more than a couple of days. It could even be the end of October. This is logical and has been proven by experience.
There have been many precedents that you have systematized; have any of them shown that they will definitely manage to release it in September?

2) And how much will all these people pay for a beta version individually?
