There is a hypothetical president of a hypothetical European country who rules for eight years. This president is bad, unimportant, a war veteran would say, begging in an underground passage. No, an oligarch will answer him, having received permission from an old partner to divide the state budget, with whom they go skiing every year and relax in the sauna, this president is good, and I don't care about your opinion at all.
Without proof, you're just a fool.
Give me proof of the conversation between the veteran and the oligarch about the hypothetical president of a hypothetical country! Otherwise, you have defined yourself.
The only bone for an adequate person is the ability to customize a hero.
A bone for an adequate person is a decent plot, which was in the first and third parts. In the second, it was removed in favor of a stupid conquest of the world, although it also turned out well.
The second bone, for the "scaler" (someone who focuses on numbers), is a million races, consisting of one model with different skins and stats.
Models exist in 3D games; in 2D games, there are only sprites, lol.
The Minotaur race. Minotaur-worker, minotaur-warrior, minotaur-archer, minotaur riding a minotaur.
Oops. First, the speaker is not familiar with the subject, except for reviews from gamers who were not paid enough. List of Minotaur units: Slave (human), Minotaur-warrior (simple minotaur), Axe Thrower (also a minotaur), Basilisk (oh yeah), Shaman (minotaur), Minotaur King, Sheep (oops), Titan - Sartek's Skull (not a minotaur). Suddenly, half of the units are not minotaurs. Secondly, take any strategy you mentioned, except for Warlords 3; instead, you can take Warlords 1 or any other. And what do we see in the human race? Human-peasant, human-worker, human-warrior, human-rider, a couple of special humans, and possibly some other human, and in the best representatives of the genre, a trained animal. "Sir, a band of humans was discovered by scouts nearby!" - okay, I'll send my own humans, who are exactly the same.
Ordinary dwarves, dark dwarves.
Unlike many similar clones, they differ greatly, as has already been said. Dwarves are proud warriors, remembering honor; dark dwarves are cowards, corrupted by the magic of the Death Knight, and have developed machines that fight for them.
Dark humans, light humans.
No, knights and imperials, are only divided in the third part and, unexpectedly, also differ in tactics. Some act with a cavalry wedge, others are merchants, living off mercenaries from all races.
Dark elves, light elves. Forest elves. Jelly elves. High elves. Low elves.
There are more in D&D :p And, as already mentioned, the tactics for them differ, but it does not correspond to what is written in the manual. High elves - good mages + anti-dragon cavalry + the best archers in the game, dark elves - assassination + magic + summoning demons, forest elves - heavy infantry + archer-cavalry + healers. Yes, unfortunately, in order to please the dark elf fans, the dark elves have again become great martyrs and need to be pitied. But this is the only downside. Plus, there are truly unique races, like the faeries mentioned by WisTrit.
"Twenty-eight character classes" - it says on Wikipedia.
Another source that allows you not to form your own opinion, but to use a ready-made one and not strain yourself.
Are there five missions in the game?
In the first part, there are 4 chapters with 5-7 episodes each, plus there is a choice between the light and dark path. In the second, there is no plot, but to achieve complete victory, it is necessary to capture 67 provinces, plus intermediate events that increase the number of missions to almost 100, plus different game difficulties, plus the fact that after 15-20 missions before the victory, they will try to bribe you each time, offering an increasingly cool reward, up to a dragon in your retinue (otherwise, you cannot get it), then you can play it again. The third part - about 15-20 story missions, plus a lot of non-story missions, but giving their bonuses.
A completely soulless, vile piece of garbage, parasitizing on the original "Warlords," which had enough mythical creatures, but there was no such cheap crap.
Is this a rant from a Warlords fan or just another piece of garbage? What you said is Puzzle Kingdoms, Puzzle Quest 2 (the first was good, although the approach and plot simply killed it). And Battlecry turned out better than all the Warlords, except for the very first ones. Because the second ones are more of the same, not bad, but no more, the third ones didn't hook me against the background of Heroes and AoW (also, by the way, 12 races), and the fourth ones kill all the desire to play with their randomness; we even argued with friends about which is more random, Warlords 4 or Wesnoth. In the end, it creates the impression that you are slandering a game that you are not really familiar with; you probably saw screenshots and, perhaps, read a couple of reviews. And if you are familiar with it, then either you are a fan of the original Warlords, which prevents you from adequately perceiving a good game, or you saw the graphics and immediately deleted it, which is also stupid. But the third part is much worse, they added a not-cute plot, but removed the battle map and all the cool events.
I like the third part less only because there are more RPG elements in it and the campaign is easy to complete, and I wouldn't say that it is much worse. The plot is good and even original, the lack of it in the second is not good. There are events, you just need to play more carefully, plus quests have appeared (although there are few), and pleasant opportunities, such as training a hero for money, hiring mercenaries, and artifact shops. Let's just say that an official expansion, AS A RULE, is better than a fan-made one, and a good user mod is rather an exception.
An official expansion, AS A RULE, is a way to make easy money and has fewer flaws than failures. The same is true for user mods; there are more failures than successes, but the successes are much better than official expansions.
