Double Elimination Chamber

It is forbidden to level up a warrior hero beyond level 7. There are warrior levels 8 and higher, and they are prohibited from engaging in battles. It is allowed to attack and then bribe/flee. But if this hero is attacked, they can defend themselves.

I understand that if they are level 8 or higher (let's say they gained 2 levels in a battle at level 7), further leveling up (through chests, trees) is prohibited. Is that correct?
