And the randomness in skills (the so-called "Skill Wheel") has always annoyed me. It's much more convenient to learn the skills you need, rather than what is offered.
The point is not the randomness, but the fact that by learning two ordinary skills, you can unlock a third, unusual one. In the fifth installment, a good number of specific and interesting skills were devised for each race.
I don't know how things will be in the 6th game.
And the idea with units definitely needs to be developed.
The fact that they abandoned the alt-upgrade system without coming up with any replacement is a huge minus and a step backward.
After all, the entire game series is currently in a terrible stagnation.
Now, the 6th installment is coming out. How does it differ from the first part of the game, which was released 16 years ago? Practically nothing! They will redraw most of the standard units of the factions again, and a couple of new ones will appear. The same goes for artifacts....
But these are minor things - the core idea of the game remains the same!
What new things do the 6th installment offer in terms of gameplay? Where are the new, interesting ideas? So far, only boss battles can be considered a plus, but I can't judge them, because it is not known how they will be implemented.
And that's it?
