Essentially, you can't miss anything; everything is tied to quests and similar things.
Don't take on side quests, and you'll miss a lot of locations.
I do it myself in Battlegrounds and Icewind.
Good for you. You still haven't managed to turn on your brain. I wouldn't be able to do that. You see, in Icewind and Battlegrounds, there is NO AI. The one that's there was a breakthrough in the second half of the 90s; it could FIGHT on its own!!! It wasn't great, but it could! It couldn't do anything else, but it was still cool! But more than a decade has passed since then, and progress hasn't stood still. You might as well say that Lamborghinis don't go 300 km/h because the Ford T couldn't. That's ridiculous.
Why would I need a third-person game with a squad? I might not even play such a game.
Then why are you attacking those who would play such a game? If you don't need it, don't interfere. Why are you trying to show off? You should be teaching girls how to use sanitary pads properly.
I don't need realism and other "advantages" of new graphics.
Read what you wrote: Arandor
Besides, the third-person view would ruin the look of the city, the dungeon. Sometimes you want to look at a place from your own eyes, but usually, the view from above is more beautiful. Like in Fallout 2 or Tactics. (I'm not talking about realism, reflections, water highlights, etc., but specifically about the drawing, details, beauty, atmosphere... how else can I call it?)
Now read what I wrote:
In DAO, it's much more beautiful; you see not just cut-off walls, but wonderfully painted cathedral ceilings, beautiful carved windows, etc.
WHERE??? Did I say anything about realism? And why are you so sure that in normal, modern games with good graphics, the drawing is bad, there are no details, no beauty, no atmosphere? When I burst into the Blood Mage's hideout in DAO and see that the tables are set in the dining room, and some of the chairs are overturned, I understand that my invasion made them jump up from the table and rush into battle. Prove your point! Stupid, unfounded statements don't work.
Added after 54 seconds Blade of Darkness is an unfinished, unoptimized piece of garbage. Runes and Enclave are examples of good action games from that time.
