...and again and again I load and replay... Tell me, is it like that for everyone, or am I going crazy???

If you are really playing "for speed," that's how the game works... Every battle, every hero's turn, choosing the necessary hero in the tavern, etc., is replayed several times to optimize it. Even a slight improvement compared to the current version is worth replaying... Over time, small advantages accumulate and turn from quantity into quality... But an error made on the first day will increase many times over time. "It's better to lose a day and then fly there in five minutes" (c) The law of nature! :)
