Tyrion was exiled, but not everyone agreed with the exile. He returned in the battle for the Silver Dawn Chapel as a paladin, and he didn't lose any strength along the way; even Alexandros Mograine supported him. No, I'm talking about Arthas. When he massacred Stratholme, he was recognized as a traitor and should have been put on trial, not to mention being stripped of his paladin status, if they could have brought him back from Northrend in time (I can't remember exactly where I read that now, it was in a comic book about six months ago). So, nominally, he is still called a paladin at the end of Varimathras's campaign, but he is "exiled" from the order. And yet, the situation was, at the very least, debatable, if not to say that Uther completely messed up.
