Yes, Blizzard's weapons in Warcraft and, especially, in World of Warcraft are just ridiculously over the top. At the same time, it was Blizzard that created the fantasy RPG with the most realistic weapons and armor - Diablo 2. Yes, the artifacts there are quite strange, and the armor doesn't always look good on the characters, but in the inventory, ordinary weapons and armor are made with a focus on realism and are simply excellent.
Well, yes, the designs are probably the most eye-watering of all the other games in the Warcraft series. Glass, ebony, and chitin armor would make Morrowind look tame.
