Watched two episodes of the mentioned series, "Game of Thrones." It seems to be well-made and of good quality, but there's a strong presence of modern phrases and communication styles, and in my opinion, it doesn't fully capture the spirit of J. Martin's novels. Also, the most puzzling thing is that it doesn't show the complete picture of the complex world of contradictions and intrigues of the various houses of Westeros. I agree that it's difficult to convey in a film what the author wanted to express, but nevertheless...
Overall, I was pleased with the appearance of this series: it's always interesting to see on the screen the director's interpretation of the characters I read about in books... It's not worse than "The Lord of the Rings," and in some ways, it's even better: there's no such pathos as in P. Jackson's film, for example.
We're waiting for "The Hobbit."
