When I was a child (it sounds funny now), I wanted to become president. And honestly, not because of the money or the mansions on Rublyovka, but because I wanted things to be good for everyone. Almost everyone is kind in childhood. So why do people become more foolish (not all of them, of course) as they grow older?
Well, in my opinion, it's simple: all people are kind and cheerful up to a certain point, or rather, until their problems start to overwhelm them. You can't solve all problems, and at some point, they accumulate, and a person can't cope with them. Resentment begins to appear, and they start thinking that they need to live for themselves, that if they spend time on others, they won't have enough time for themselves (well, besides family, depending on the person). From this comes the desire to take everything from life and not care if someone else is left out – this is greed. In the end, a person, riding on this "crooked" horse, still reaches their goal and even experiences some satisfaction for a while. But when they think about how they got there, i.e., through greed and resentment, they start to feel like an idiot, and that's where foolishness begins to take root in them... On the other hand, there's a saying: "It's better to regret what you've done than what you haven't done," and that comforts a person, and so it goes until death...
This is, in my opinion, the bitter truth of life... it's bitter..
