The only good "horror" writer is Stephen King. No sudden scares, no gore, no cheap thrills.

Instead, there's a lot of incredibly boring stuff about how John Smith relaxes with a beer in his state of Maine while watching a game on TV, and while August is in full swing outside.
Salimov's work, for example, is capable of killing a person with its tediousness; it's better to watch a less boring, but still titanic film.
Only his short stories are readable from the horror genre.
