Three students from different countries were asked how long it would take them to learn Japanese.

The first one asked was an American. He clicked around on his computer and said:
- One year and eight months.
They asked a Frenchman, and he ran to the library, looked through the catalogs, and promised to learn it in a year.

They asked a Russian, and he asked:
- Is there a textbook?
They gave him a textbook, and he quickly flipped through it:
- I'll finish my cigarette, and then I'll go take the test.
