Water? No way. If you only play battles, you'll get tired of it quickly because the battles can be very long, and towards the end, they become frequent. Managing the empire is quite good; it's a bit like Civilization, but without researching technologies. It's interesting to follow other factions, your royal family, and make plans to conquer cities, etc.

I also have Civ 4, and I'm glad that you can play multiplayer on the same computer.
