Me and Medium are planning to arrive by car on the 30th in the morning, just before the tournament starts. It would be nice to start playing in the morning as well, rather than waiting until lunchtime if the draw pairs us with someone who is also arriving. I don't really mind who I play against, but after a long journey, waiting half a day for an opponent and finishing a game at midnight (if we even finish) could be stressful and affect performance in the remaining rounds. The partition between players is certainly a drawback, but that's how it is. However, regarding hints – my opinion is, if it's a game with money at stake, what kind of hints are we talking about? Otherwise, what's the point of the entry fees? There will always be dissatisfied people; it's an individual tournament, not a team one. Either ban hints completely or allow participation without an entry fee. Has anyone ever seen an intellectual game where hints and spectators are randomly thrown in?
