Tom Araya from Slayer even sings with a harsher growl, maybe. Not in everything, of course, but in many songs.
And that growl that some Murmansk band used to cover Slayer wasn't very thrashy or powerful. But it was beautiful. It sounded like a Death scream. It was evil and aggressive, yes. I like that kind, but for a Slayer cover, something louder and more screaming would be better. At least like Ensiferum.
