Of course, there is some truth in your words, reptile, but... the main problem with the new series is that they sometimes like to get rid of the old and good, and I can't stand that. It wasn't the case with the fifth installment; they "based" it on the third and added something of their own. I like such things, so even though I started with the third, I really liked the fifth. I still play both of these parts.
The fifth installment turned out to be pretty good; it seems that the developers tried their best to make it as close as possible to the third part, but there are quite a few cutbacks in the fifth compared to the third: this includes reducing magic and artifacts (including reducing the "doll" of the hero for artifacts), and only 5 slots for secondary skills (even if they are more extensive, but still... I think 6-7 would be just right), and many maps in the third seem more extensive than in the fifth!
But still, the fifth has many of its own advantages. So, as I said, each part has something of its own! And I hope the sixth will also have something interesting!
