Sacred Haven of Debauchery

"Silent people" like to deceive themselves, claiming that they are silent because they are bored of communicating, or that people are not suitable, or "I like to withdraw into myself." In reality, as soon as they unintentionally join a conversation, their great intellect and subtle emotional nature will not allow them to maintain the conversation. Silent people will remain silent, not knowing what to say, or they will awkwardly interject with comments about the weather or school, like distant relatives who don't know what to ask a growing boy, other than how well he is doing in school.
Can this be called stupidity? Lack of intelligence? Certainly not intelligence or aristocratic boredom.
