Dear friends! (Please excuse my verbose style and old-fashioned manner.)
I have been attending our Heroes gatherings more or less regularly for quite a few years now. Without me, such gatherings in Yekaterinburg have been held only a few times (even when I was sick, if I was able to maintain a vertical sitting position, I was present). Players of Heroes are, first and foremost, people for whom intelligence and reason are not in last place in life – but rather, they are of paramount importance. And, again, these are quite reasonable people. The trip to Kyiv, in one way or another, was one of the most memorable events in my life. I realized that not only in Yekaterinburg, but also in other cities and, I wouldn't be afraid to say, COUNTRIES, people who are intelligent play Heroes. People with whom there is something to talk about and something to remain silent about: that is, people with whom I personally simply enjoy being around. But! In Kyiv, I realized that either we play Heroes, or we relax. Both options are equally appealing to me. But I, for example, clearly understand that in Egypt, when there is a sea and sun nearby, I personally would not want to sit in four walls and stare at monitors – because the next trip abroad may not present itself. Regarding my difficulties in obtaining a foreign passport, I simply don't want to take the risk (for another couple of years), knowing that as long as the military enlistment office doesn't remember you, it's better not to remind them unnecessarily (I have a military ID, but in 2003, there was supposed to be a re-examination, for which I didn't receive a summons). In Kyiv, I took on an excessively high workload and, by the end of the event, I was literally EXHAUSTED. And this is taking into account that we visited the city in ADVANCE (there was a free day for this). In Egypt, it is still a COMPLETELY different culture and a different people. If in Kyiv, I saw many familiar things that didn't require deep understanding, then in Egypt, there is a different atmosphere, a different climate, different people. And in this case, all my interest would be directed towards getting to know a culture that is completely different for me. After all, Heroes is already something I know well.
In Michurinsk, as I understand it, the emphasis will be on Heroes. On the GAME itself!
Therefore, I urge everyone to decide – why we want to gather. If we want to have fun, relax, go on vacation, and unwind, then Egypt is preferable. But if we want to hold a HEROES CHAMPIONSHIP, then without a doubt, Michurinsk will be much more COMPETITIVE in this regard, as there will be far fewer temptations. Everyone chooses for themselves. My choice (considering that for at least another year and a half, I don't want to have anything to do with the military enlistment office) is Michurinsk. I physically cannot handle Egypt in the format that it was in Kyiv. In Kyiv, at least, there was no beach with a sea nearby (a sea that I haven't seen in more than ten years...).
Regarding those rounds that were not actually played in Kyiv, it is clear to any hedgehog (except for Mee:smile40:) that with that "organization" and with that attitude, it could not have been otherwise.
Here is another point – Mee recently mentioned a sum of 10-12 thousand rubles for everything... And the respectable Kobr mentioned a sum that was an order of magnitude higher. Considering the harassment of our fellow croupiers, the issue of expenses is important to me (who knows how the cards will fall...).
The instability of the political situation is also not in favor of Egypt: we will fly there, but getting back... is a big question...
In Russia, it is somehow more familiar, isn't it? Here, we are citizens, with some, albeit violated, rights... But there...
Nagan, judging by what he wrote, approached the matter seriously, with full responsibility and understanding, and, as they say, PUT HIMSELF INTO this event. In Kyiv, excuse my frankness, there was no such attitude. If we are playing Heroes, then I prefer Michurinsk; if we are going to relax, then anywhere (but if a foreign trip is required, then not for now).
As they say, I'm at a point where I'm
