Please provide proof of where it says about Nagas in Buddhism.

Nagas (Sanskrit: नाग nag – snake) are serpentine mythical creatures, demigods, in Hinduism and Buddhism.

They are depicted as snakes with a human torso and a human head, covered from above with a fan of snake heads. They live in caves and bodies of water, on land, in water, or underground.

The mythology of the "man-snake" has ancient roots. Nagas are depicted with a human head. The Naga is a symbol of wisdom. There is a cult of the snake and related holidays. It is believed that the snake-naga was the totem of one of the powerful ancient tribes, whose representatives were called Nagas. The sage Patanjali is depicted as a naga, the upper half of which has a human appearance. It is believed that the Buddha preached to the Nagas. Nagarjuna meditated for seventeen years on the image of a naga, after which he immersed himself in their element, water, where he gained the highest intuitive wisdom (prajnaparamita). Water is a symbol of the unconscious. It is associated with experiences during the deepest immersion in the process of meditation. It is claimed that the Nagas kept the truth secret until people were ready to understand it. The great abyss (Mahatala) is inhabited by Nagas, one of the most terrible hells. Kundalini, the energy that rises in a person during spiritual practice from the lowest psychophysiological center (chakra) to the highest, where it merges with God, is depicted as a snake. The Naga protected the Buddha with its hood from the scorching sun during his meditation before enlightenment. According to another version, it was a cobra.
