I’ve always said that elves are peaceful creatures. I easily took over a lower-level demonic town. A few times, elves tried to attack me, but I immediately killed them when they tried to take my mines. After a few months of leveling up, I reached a garrison. There, I ignored the dragon because I was too lazy to gather archers. Since I noticed that a hero was somewhere on the map for a month, I was very surprised to see that he hadn't entered the town at all! So, I easily took over an almost undefended town with about 68 Druids, around 100 Grand Archers, and some other units. And then... a new mission! ^_^
