For example, since I learned about Alexander Grin's biography, his books have lost a large part of their magic for me. Now I see in them not bright, colorful dreams, but an opium dream in a corner on a tattered rag, if you understand what I mean.
As for novels, I have always somehow easily tackled large works. In fact, I was even glad that the immersion wouldn't end soon. :)
