In a situation where you are carefully following the rules, and your opponent is playing according to their own understanding of the game, such cases are at the very least disrespectful. I would give myself an auto-win in this case, but I would not give the victory to the player who broke the rule on the grounds that it supposedly didn't matter. It's the same as, for example, collecting Pandora's boxes first and then taking out the guards — so what if you saved 1-2 squares, it doesn't matter!

And what does "broke the chain" or "didn't break the chain" have to do with it? Maybe I needed that scout hero to capture the Utopia.
